Elystay

Multiple Frames Capturing the Scenery

IDMM Architects

The name Neajangsan Mountain, meaning that boundless treasures are hidden within the mountain, is renowned for its outstanding scenery throughout the year. With an elevation of 760m, it spans both Jeollabuk-do Province and Jeollanam-do Province, connecting multiple peaks with ridgelines. Neajangsan Mountain National Park, located here, is the eighth designated national park in South Korea, captivating numerous hikers each year with its beautiful landscapes. Beneath the northern slopes, strategically positioned to capture the surrounding scenery, stands an Elisstay with layered rectangular frames, seemingly determined not to miss such views.

Integrated with the national park, the accommodation and café facilities cover an area of 6,621m2, consisting of the main building and A, B, C wings. Considering the terrain and panoramic views, they are arranged around a communal courtyard. The courtyard, elevated 3.8m higher than the road, is designed to integrate with a swimming pool and performance venue. Creating an artificial hill, it allows visitors to focus on the Neajangsan Mountain landscape while enjoying the outdoor swimming pool and terraced seating in the performance venue from three wings. Each unit is designed with skip-floor sections, taking into account the sloping terrain.

The main building, located directly adjacent to the road, serves as guest rooms. With support facilities on the underground floor and a café on the first floor complementing the reception space for welcoming guests, each floor accommodates two units, creating cantilever balconies for room privacy and varied aesthetics. Facing east, one can enjoy nighttime views towards nearby a golf resort, and from the rooftop swimming pool, the panoramic beauty of Neajangsan Mountain unfolds.
