A Scene of Fabrication in a Golden Veil
Aramé Studio has unveiled a temporary exhibition design for the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona CCCB in Barcelona, Spain. Occupying a 350m² space, the installation transforms the exhibition environment through a restrained palette of standard construction materials and a shimmering golden fabric perimeter.
Founded in Barcelona in 2019, Aramé Studio approaches each commission as a distinct design inquiry, exploring spaces, atmospheres, objects, and artefacts through architecture. The practice places particular emphasis on how materials are assembled and used, while viewing architecture as a collaborative process that extends from the earliest stages of design through construction.
This approach is reflected throughout the exhibition. Linked thermal blankets unfold into a radiant curtain, reshaping the perception of the surrounding space. Standard construction elements—including grating, concrete blocks, wheels, and binding straps—are assembled without modification to form modular structures that are mobile, reversible, and adaptable. Once the exhibition concludes, every component returns to its original source, leaving behind only the memory of a space that briefly shimmered into existence.
