Mextrópoli 2026 Pavilion

Since 1998, Arquine, a comprehensive architectural‑culture platform, has organized an international architecture competition that, in recent years, has been planned as part of the MEXTRÓPOLI Architecture and City Festival held in Mexico City’s historic center. Participants are invited to propose both the design and the activation of a pavilion. The built pavilion will serve as a node that promotes active interaction between architecture and the city, and must ensure sustainability by being reusable. It will be installed in one of two sites in the historic center of Mexico City: Alameda Central or Plaza Manuel Tolsá.

1. Eligibility
– Professionals or students from all over the world (individually or in teams)

2. Competition Schedule
– Registration deadline: April 17, 2025
– Registration fee: 1,500 MXN (per team)
– Inquiries &Response: Until February 26, 2025
– Submission: April 20, 2025
– Assessment: April 23, 2025
– Announcement: April 27, 2025
– Executive development of the project: May 2025
– Installation and inauguration: September 2025

3. Submission Requirements
– Descriptive Text: Maximum of 250 words in Spanish or English.
– Visual Materials: Overall plans, sections, diagrams, views, sketches, collages, or any other representations that effectively convey the project idea.

4. Jurors
– The jury members will be announced on January 27, 2025.

5. Prizes
– 1st prize: 100,000 MXN and construction of the pavilion for MEXTRÓPOLI 2025.
– 2nd prize: 50,000 MXN
– 3rd prize: 25,000 MXN
* Additional benefits: Access to MEXTRÓPOLI for up to two team members and a package of 10 Arquine books.
