
The international competition for the Architecture and Landscaping Design Concept of Tuchkov Buyan Park in Saint Petersburg is held on the initiative and with the support of the Government of Saint Petersburg.
For more than a hundred years, Saint Petersburg residents have wished to see an urban park on Vatny Island. Today, the city has a unique opportunity to make this dream of several generations of Petersburgers come true and create a new, world-class landmark on the Petrograd side.
The territory of the future park is located in the Petrograd region of Saint Petersburg, and is part of the Historic Centre of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments UNESCO World Heritage Site, established in 1990. The site is within walking distance of the city’s key landmarks.
Tuchkov Buyan will become the city’s first park with direct river access and will offer new panoramic views of the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Treasury ensemble, the Rostral Columns of Vasilievsky Island, the Admiralty, Saint Petersburg’s drawbridges, and the Neva River itself.
The subject of the competition is the development of the architecture and landscaping design concept of the park, embankment, square and adjacent streets. The concept shall include landscape, urban planning, layout, spatial and architectural solutions of the design site and shall comply with the requirements of the competition brief.
Eligibility
The competition is open to architects and landscape designers from all countries.
Eligible architects, landscape architects, and urban designers must be qualified for practice in their respective countries.

– First jury session: 3 February ~ 4 February (selection of 8 competitors)
(2) Competition
– Participants visit location: 17 February

– Submission of proposals: 8 May
– Second jury session: 14 May ~ 15 May
– Announcement of results: 3 June ~ 6 June

Awards & Prize Money
Each of the eight competitors: 60,000 USD
* The finalists will additionally receive. (1st: 50,000 USD, 2nd: 30,000 USD, 3rd: 20,000 USD)
