Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA) is holding the ‘2022 ARCASIA Student Architectural Design Competition’. This year’s theme is ‘The Future of Architecture Tourism in Asia’.
Asia’s rich cultural and architectural heritage is a major factor in attracting tourists, but it tends to go against cultural characteristics and, if not properly managed, become a problem for the city. This competition aims to provide innovative solutions amd present ideas for the sustainability of architecture by examining the economic, social, and environmental importance of tourism from the perspective of students from 21 Asian countries with different cultural backgrounds, and by researching factors and problems affecting the development of local tourism.
1. Eligibility
– Any current full-time student studying in an Undergraduate Architecture program accredited/ recognized by respective National Institute of Architects of ARCASIA Member Institutes.
2. Schedule
(1) Submission Close: 10 July (to Member Institutes)
(2) Submission of 3 Finalists: 24 July
(3) Results: 15 August
(4) Award Ceremony: 6 September (21st Asian Forum of Architects)
3. Materials to be Submitted
– Panel (A1 sized-layout, Location plan/ Site plan/ Block plan/ Building plans at appropriate scale; Minimum one cross-section and /or elevations at appropriate scale; Diagram/ Sketches highlighting the design ideas and features; Photomontages, Perspectives, and or other illustrations that can illustrate the ideas and design concepts; Animation is not accepted.)
– Design statement (500 words maximum, font-size: 12pt, PDF)
