Public Design Competition of Cheonggye Sewerage History Hall

The project for building “Cheonggye Sewerage History Hall” is designed to create a multipurpose cultural complex where citizens may share and appreciate the value of water recycling in a space preserving contemporary industrial facilities as cultural heritage.

1. Competition brief
(1) Location: 250-19, Yongdap-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul and the surrounding area (within Jungnang Sewage Treatment Center)
(2) Site area: 17,000m2
(3) Estimated construction costs: KRW 7.345 Bn (Architecture: KRW 4.954 Bn, Exhibition: KRW 2.391 Bn)
(4) Estimated design costs: KRW 575 M (including VAT and liability insurance)
(5) Design period: 270 days from commencement date

2. Eligibility
– Domestic and foreign licensed architect experts (In case of Joint application, a team can have a maximum of three members.)

3. Schedule
(1) Stage 1
– Notice: July 23 (Thu)
– Registration: July 23 (Thu) ~ 18:00 August 20 (Thu)
– Entry submission: 10:00 August 19 (Wed) ~ 17:00 August 21 (Fri)
– Evaluation: August 25 (Tue)
– Results announcement: August 26 (Wed)
(2) Stage 2
– Notice: August 28, 2020 (Fri)
– Registration: August 28, 2020 (Fri) ~ 18:00 October 11 (Sun)
– Site survey: 10:30 September 2 (Wed)
– Entry submission : 10:00 October 8 (Thu) ~ 17:00 October 12 (Mon)
– Evaluation : October 21 (Wed)
– Results announcement : October 22 (Thu)

4. Prize
– Winner (1): The right of priority negotiation for contract of working construction documents
– 2nd prize(1): KRW 23,000,000
– 3rd prize(1): KRW 17,250,000
– 4th prize(1): KRW 11,500,000
– 5th prize(1): KRW 5,750,000
