Chuncheon Lakeside Observatory, Thousand Plateaus
In the Korean city of Chuncheon, a Thousand Plateaus Observatory rises beside the road running along the wide river waters known as Uiamho Lake. The observatory’s Chuncheon Lakeside site is opposite the waterside Soyang River Maiden Statue and near the Soyanggang Skywalk.
The new attraction takes the striking form of a 20.4m-high translucent tower with a skin of curved anodized aluminum, with cantilevered steel-framed rectangular tubes extending out in four orthogonal directions at different levels, each ending in a full-height and width opening and a small balcony.
