On April 26th, international representatives of four Portuguese companies were in Seoul, South Korea to promote the quality and diversity of the Portuguese market. The action was part of the Portugal Premium Experience project, developed by the Associação Empresarial de Portugal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AEP) as part of the Next Challenge Asia initiative. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agri-food, home, and construction materials sectors, and to increase the number of exports.
The event took place at The Four Seasons Hotel and included presentations by Artur Rocha, director of international business at Primor, and Vera Lima, responsible for sales, marketing, and communication at Vinhos Norte, representing the agri-food and beverage sectors. João Pedro Ribeiro, Cutipol’s operations manager, and David Iguaz, Arch Valadares’ export manager, spoke about the home and construction materials sector. The program also included a presentation of the macroeconomic framework and bilateral relations by AICEP, as well as networking opportunities among participants and the Portuguese delegation.
AEP, the largest business association in Portugal, was founded in 1849 and has since existed to aid Portuguese business activity in various sectors and to defend and promote the interests of the business community. It plays an important role in fostering economic development and international trade, organizing and participating in various events, such as trade fairs, exhibitions, and business missions, both in Portugal and abroad. AEP is also a prized partner of governments in the discussion of issues related to the development of the Portuguese economy and has a seat on the European Economic and Social Committee.
Portugal Premium Experience, organized by AEP, aims to solidify the business relationships between Portugal and South Korea. The event includes two sectorial seminars of the Agrifood and Home & Building Materials sectors, followed by a cocktail and networking moment to facilitate new business partnerships and strengthen existing ones. The first event of Portugal Premium Experience took place on October 25th and 26th, 2022, and involved about 30 entrepreneurs from Japan, South Korea, and China. The invitees had the opportunity to participate in various sectorial workshops, contact directly with Portuguese products, companies, and entrepreneurs, and visit the installations and factories of some of the most renowned and internationalized Portuguese brands located in northern Portugal.
