The exhibition ‘Capital Reform,’ which highlights the architectural experiments and potential of young Madrid-based architects, runs until June 20. Organized and hosted by the Madrid Association of Architects(COAM), the exhibition features ten studios led by the region‘s emerging generation. It explores how these architects creatively and experimentally reconfigure living spaces under constrained resources.
The exhibition Is divided into three sections: Photographs of Completed Projects, Snapshots Documenting the Process, which reveal open possibilities and experimental approaches, and a Process Table, displaying creative materials from each studio. Together, these elements trace the journey from initial ideas to final results, exploring diverse methods of rethinking residential spaces.

Participating studios include ba-rro, BURR, cumuloLimbo studio, Estudio Reciente, gon-architects, HANGHAR, Studio Pachón-Paredes, Pia Mendaro, Plutarco, and Yeyé Estudio. These architects optimize limited urban living spaces, modernize traditional housing typologies, and transform everyday spaces into dynamic activity zones. Along the way, they introduce innovative uses of materials and experimental designs.
The materials used to construct the exhibition space itself—transparent plastic slate, metal rods, and modular bricks combined with wood—evoke an industrial aesthetic. Through photographs, design artifacts, and creative outputs, the exhibition presents the multifaceted nature of architecture and offers a fresh perspective on modern residential spaces.
The participating studios primarily focus on small-scale residential projects, emphasizing experimental spatial configurations, material usage, integration with public spaces, and the exploration of flexibility and diversity in spatial design. Additionally, they engage in architectural exhibitions, installations, and interior design, showcasing a wide range of approaches and possibilities.
The exhibition is held on the first floor of the Madrid Association of Architects building, in the Miguel Fisac Exhibition Hall (Sala Miguel Fisac). Admission is free.
