Stalk Tree-hugger

In the heart of Jakarta‘s vibrant business district, a unique dining experience awaits beneath an urban forest of towering trees. Translucent canopies gently descend from the tops of 30-meter-tall tree pillars, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow as the trees sway. The canopy stretches across five pillars, forming a parametric structure that offers a variety of spatial experiences.
The architect envisioned a space where visitors could enjoy a peaceful retreat in the shifting shadows, blending natural and architectural elements. The tensile structure, anchored by the tree pillars, flows gently with the wind, casting fluid, ever-changing shadows that mirror the movement of the trees.

Through an entrance hidden by lush foliage, visitors enter a cozy foyer surrounded by greenery, which leads to the restaurant nestled among the tree pillars. Spanning about 750 square meters, the restaurant features glass facades and a lightweight roof, seamlessly blending with the surrounding greenery to enhance the urban landscape.
The poetic play of light and shadow invites people into this peaceful setting. At night, the canopy becomes a glowing lantern, adding to the restaurant‘s charm as a lively dining space accompanied by music. The ever-changing patterns of nature and light not only enrich the interior but also contribute to the city’s visual fabric, bringing moments of joy to everyday life.
